Maple exhibits a fine even texture with a high luster. This wood has been the staple of boards made for the food industry for a number of years. It has tight closed grain and is extremely durable in the kitchen. Not only is this wood very hard, but, it has a light creamy color that is very neutral. It will darken a little with age which only adds to its patina! Maple is in good supply and sustainable in nature. You may find light mineral streaks in maple and hues of gray to reddish-brown at times. These colors are normal and add to the uniqueness of the maple boards.
